Re-buy tournaments – when your chips are gone, you can simply
buy some more as long as it’s within the allowed period
Add-on – some tournaments offer the chance to buy extra chips
at the end of the re-buy period
Freeroll – no entry fee at all!
Guaranteed tournament – a minimum prize, guaranteed, however
many people enter
Added prize money – where we add prize money to the prize
pool. See ‘Lucky Dollar’!
Single-table tournaments – the people around your table are
the only players. Knock them out and you’re the winner!
Multi-table tournaments – players are on lots of tables; as
they get knocked out the tables reduce in number until the final
table, and the winner
Short-handed – 5 players on a table instead of 10; the button
comes round quicker, but then so does big blind…
Heads-up – just two of you playing off
Turbo-tournament – not for the faint hearted! The blinds (compulsory
bets) increase every 3 minutes!
